Overview

A facilitation plan and detailed workshop information is coming soon!

Join us for a presentation highlighting the new Madison College Academic Affairs Equity & Inclusion Plan and how it relates to Process Education. In August 2020, Madison College created a new role of Academic Diversity Officer and committed to a bold plan to align operations and culture with the values of antiracism, inclusion, and intercultural learning. Dr. Geoff Bradshaw will discuss the 5 pillars of the new college plan and lead our audience through a discussion of the conceptualization, implementation, and assessment cycle for organizational change. Key outcomes in the plan can serve as a planning template for any institution.

Dr. Geoff Bradshaw is the Academic Diversity Officer and Dean of International Education at Madison Area Technical College (Madison College) and has exemplified a life-long commitment to intercultural learning and social justice. He began his career by completing a Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology from UW-Madison focusing on identity and expression in American culture, and teaching cultural studies, Anthropology, and African History. At Madison College he first served as the Multicultural Programs Coordinator before founding and leading the college’s nationally recognized Center for International Education. He has been instrumental in numerous college efforts to celebrate and support diversity including establishing a global and multicultural center, The Intercultural Exchange. In addition to his work in teaching and administration, he has served as the Executive Director of the Wisconsin Institute for Peace and Conflict Studies, member of the Editorial Board of International Educator magazine, and numerous other leadership positions on state, regional, and national organizations and associations.

In August 2020, Dr. Bradshaw was appointed as the Madison College inaugural Academic Diversity Officer and charged with the development of an Academic Affairs Equity and Inclusion Plan. The Academic Diversity Officer (ADO) is a newly developed leadership position created to support the work of the college Equity and Inclusion mission within and among the Academic Schools of the College. The ADO collaborates with the Provost and Vice President for Equity, Inclusion and Community Engagement to lead and coordinate the development and execution of Equity and Inclusion plans and activities within and across each academic School and connect Academic Affairs efforts to systems that will support organizational change. The Madison College Academic Affairs Equity and Inclusion Plan focuses on five pillars of organizational change and systematic plans for engagement and support of this work.
