Pacific Crest Has a New President

The Board of Directors of Pacific Crest is pleased to formally announce the appointment of Auston Van Slyke as President. Dan Apple has stepped back and assumed the role of Vice President of Research and Development. Auston brings with him a great deal of experience in training and directing performance improvement across multiple fields, including academia and industry. His dedication to improving implementation of the energy transition to renewables has led his journey here and he is looking forward to growing Pacific Crest’s impact commercially as well as in academia.

Auston is a member of the Academy of Process Educators and presented a workshop, Promoting a Shift in the Ownership of Performance Development through Performance Mentoring at the 2022 PE Conference. He is also a co-author of the IJPE article, Improving Performance Using the Methodology for Developing Performance.

He brings with him something new, however: a background outside of academia brimming with expertise in training, teaching, and teaming in the corporate and industrial sectors. And learning is learning, regardless of the focus of that learning and the need for teaching people HOW to learn is nearly universal. With Auston’s hand on the wheel, we at Pacific Crest see new opportunities and optimism for what we can accomplish going forward.

Auston’s expertise and vision will be taking Pacific Crest in some interesting new directions and we look forward to that. On behalf of Auston and all of us at Pacific Crest, we continue to support the Academy and our dedication to its mission and vision is unwavering.

Because there is a person behind the title and name, we’d like to offer a glimpse into who Auston is, where he’s been, and his passions and hobbies.
