Patrick Barlow, Ingrid Ulbrich, Matt Watts, Colleen Taylor, Chaya Jain, Steve Spicklemire and Tris Utschig met on March 29th 2023. The majority of the meeting was spent on discussing the agenda for the conference, the associated recruitment of attendees and the election for next year.
A keynote speaker suggested by Joanne Horton, Dr. Nya Haydel, from Complete College America was secured. Early bird registration was adjusted to May 5 and the website was also updated with information on the keynote and panel. Work was reported as underway on the assessment plan for the proposals. A simple scoring system will be used for which we can decide who to accommodate in the short presentation windows and some may be recommended for the HOI.
Ingrid Ulbrich is the lead for the awards committee for the conference which may include Libbie and Joyce Adams. It was reiterated that Jamboard will be used by Will Ofstad for teams and that George Dombi will use Panopto as the HOI platform.
In regard to registration at the conference, the Board assigned roles to contact folks and track progress. Patrick Barlow sent a template for invitation to recruit attendees.
Chaya Jain has agreed to run as President. If she runs, the at large seat will be open. We are continuing to recruit. Will Ofstad, Chris Sweeney and Grace Onodipe agreed to run for at large positions.
